SHIPPING & DELIVERY POLICY

Last updated: 11 September 2026

Thank you for choosing Buddha Sacred Arts.

We understand that when you purchase a handcrafted artwork, sacred object or other special piece online, receiving it safely is just as important as choosing it.

At Buddha Sacred Arts, we take care to package and dispatch orders securely and to provide customers with clear information about processing, international delivery, tracking, customs and what happens if something goes wrong during transportation.

This Shipping & Delivery Policy applies to purchases made through:

https://buddhasacredarts.com

This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Refund & Returns Policy.

Nothing in this Shipping & Delivery Policy excludes or limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer-protection legislation.

1. WHERE WE SHIP

Buddha Sacred Arts is intended to serve customers internationally.

We may ship to destinations including:

  • Australia;
  • United States;
  • Canada;
  • United Kingdom;
  • European countries;
  • New Zealand;
  • countries throughout Asia;
  • the Middle East; and
  • other international destinations supported by our delivery partners.

Shipping availability may vary depending on:

  • destination country;
  • product type;
  • product size;
  • product value;
  • courier availability;
  • import restrictions;
  • customs requirements; and
  • other operational or legal considerations.

If we are unable to ship a particular product to your destination, we will contact you where necessary and provide an appropriate solution.

2. WHERE ORDERS ARE SHIPPED FROM

Buddha Sacred Arts works with artists, artisans, suppliers, studios and fulfilment arrangements associated with the products we sell.

Depending on the product and where stock is located, an order may be dispatched from the location where the relevant item is stored or produced.

This may mean that different products within the same order are dispatched from different locations.

Where relevant, dispatch-location information may be shown on:

  • the product page;
  • checkout;
  • your order confirmation; or
  • subsequent shipping communications.

International customers should therefore be aware that a product may be dispatched internationally even where the Buddha Sacred Arts business itself operates from Australia.

3. ORDER PROCESSING TIME

For products that are in stock and ready for dispatch, we aim to process orders within approximately:

1–2 business days

after payment has been successfully confirmed.

Orders placed on:

  • weekends;
  • Australian public holidays;
  • public holidays affecting the fulfilment location; or
  • after normal processing hours

may begin processing on the next applicable business day.

Processing time and delivery time are separate.

For example, if an order takes two business days to prepare and five business days to travel, the overall period may be approximately seven business days.

4. HANDMADE AND SPECIAL PRODUCTS

Some Buddha Sacred Arts products require additional preparation before dispatch.

This may include:

  • Thangka paintings;
  • brocade-mounted Thangkas;
  • framed artworks;
  • commissioned artworks;
  • customised items;
  • handmade jewellery;
  • statues;
  • singing bowls;
  • individually sourced products;
  • personalised products; and
  • other artisan-made items.

Additional preparation may be required for:

  • protective packaging;
  • mounting;
  • framing;
  • quality inspection;
  • documentation;
  • customisation; or
  • safe international transportation.

Where a product requires longer than our normal processing period, we will aim to make this clear on the product page or communicate the estimated timeframe to you.

5. CUSTOM AND COMMISSIONED ORDERS

Custom, commissioned, made-to-order or personalised products may have significantly longer preparation times than products already held in stock.

Where possible, an estimated production or preparation period will be provided before or after the order is placed.

Any estimated production time is separate from the courier delivery period.

For example, an artwork requiring several weeks to produce will enter the normal shipping process only after it has been completed and prepared for dispatch.

6. SHIPPING METHODS

Buddha Sacred Arts aims to use reputable and appropriately tracked delivery services.

Depending on the destination and product, delivery providers may include internationally recognised courier or postal companies.

These may include carriers such as:

  • DHL;
  • FedEx;
  • UPS;
  • Australia Post;
  • EMS;
  • local postal services; or
  • another reputable international or domestic logistics provider.

The courier used for your particular order may depend on:

  • your destination;
  • package dimensions;
  • product value;
  • shipping cost;
  • courier availability; and
  • customs requirements.

We do not guarantee that a particular courier will be used unless this is expressly confirmed for your order.

7. TRACKED SHIPPING

Where tracking is available, Buddha Sacred Arts will provide a tracking number once the shipment has been processed by the courier.

Tracking information may be sent by:

  • email;
  • SMS where available;
  • your Buddha Sacred Arts customer account; or
  • another order-notification method.

You may also be able to track your order through a tracking facility available on:

https://buddhasacredarts.com

or directly through the relevant courier's website.

8. WHEN TRACKING BECOMES ACTIVE

Receiving a tracking number does not always mean that the parcel has already begun moving through the courier network.

A label may be created before the courier physically collects or scans the package.

It can therefore take some time for tracking information to become active.

Depending on the courier, the first tracking update may appear after collection, arrival at a sorting facility or export processing.

If tracking has not updated for an unusually long period, please contact us.

9. ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIMES

For international express shipments, delivery will commonly take approximately:

3–10 business days after dispatch

depending on the destination and courier service.

Some destinations may take longer.

Domestic delivery times may differ.

These timeframes are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates, unless Buddha Sacred Arts expressly provides a guaranteed delivery service for a particular order.

Actual delivery time may depend on:

  • your country;
  • courier service;
  • customs clearance;
  • local delivery networks;
  • public holidays;
  • weekends;
  • weather;
  • security checks;
  • remote-area delivery;
  • transportation disruptions; and
  • other circumstances.

10. PROCESSING TIME VS DELIVERY TIME

Please remember that the delivery estimate begins after your order has been dispatched.

For example:

Order processing: approximately 1–2 business days
Estimated transportation: approximately 3–10 business days

This means an ordinary international order may take approximately 4–12 business days overall, although actual times can be shorter or longer.

Custom or commissioned products may require additional production time before this period begins.

11. SHIPPING COSTS

Shipping charges, where applicable, will normally be calculated and displayed before you complete checkout.

Shipping charges may depend on:

  • delivery destination;
  • package weight;
  • package dimensions;
  • product value;
  • selected delivery service; and
  • any shipping promotion currently offered.

You will normally be able to review the applicable shipping amount before completing your purchase.

12. FREE SHIPPING PROMOTIONS

Buddha Sacred Arts may from time to time offer:

  • free worldwide shipping;
  • free shipping above a particular purchase amount;
  • free shipping to selected countries;
  • free shipping on selected products; or
  • limited promotional shipping offers.

Where a free-shipping threshold applies, the current threshold and any conditions will be displayed on the Website or during checkout.

This allows us to change promotional shipping arrangements from time to time without affecting existing confirmed orders.

The shipping terms displayed when your eligible order is placed will apply to that order.

13. SHIPPING RATES AND CURRENCY

Shipping costs may be displayed in your selected Website currency.

Where currency conversion is provided, the displayed shipping cost may be converted using exchange-rate information supplied by our e-commerce or payment providers.

Your bank or card provider may apply a different exchange rate or separate international transaction fee.

Buddha Sacred Arts does not control charges imposed independently by your financial institution.

14. INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS

International shipments may be subject to customs processing when they enter the destination country.

Customs authorities may:

  • inspect packages;
  • request additional information;
  • assess duties or taxes;
  • temporarily hold shipments;
  • request documentation; or
  • apply local import requirements.

Customs procedures are controlled by the authorities of the destination country and are generally outside Buddha Sacred Arts' direct control.

15. CUSTOMS DUTIES, IMPORT TAXES AND FEES

Depending on your country, an international order may attract:

  • customs duty;
  • import GST or VAT;
  • sales taxes;
  • brokerage fees;
  • customs-processing fees;
  • clearance charges; or
  • other government or courier-related import charges.

Unless checkout expressly states that these charges have already been collected or included, such charges may be payable separately by the recipient.

Import rules and thresholds vary substantially from country to country.

Customers are encouraged to check the requirements of their local customs authority before placing an international order if they are concerned about possible import costs.

16. DUTIES AND TAXES ARE NOT SHIPPING CHARGES

Customs duties, import taxes and government charges should not be confused with Buddha Sacred Arts shipping charges.

A Website promotion such as free shipping generally relates to transportation charges and does not automatically mean that:

  • import duties;
  • VAT;
  • GST;
  • customs charges; or
  • government fees

will also be paid by Buddha Sacred Arts.

Where we offer a service in which duties and taxes are included, this will be made clear during checkout or in the relevant product or shipping information.

17. IMPORT RESPONSIBILITY

The customer is generally responsible for ensuring that products ordered from Buddha Sacred Arts can legally be imported into the destination country.

Certain countries may regulate or restrict particular:

  • natural materials;
  • woods;
  • plant materials;
  • animal-derived materials;
  • metals;
  • antiques;
  • religious objects;
  • jewellery;
  • artworks; or
  • other product categories.

Where we are aware that we cannot lawfully or practically ship a product to your country, we may decline or cancel the order and provide the appropriate refund.

Nothing in this section transfers responsibility to the customer where applicable law places responsibility on Buddha Sacred Arts.

18. CUSTOMS DELAYS

Occasionally, an international shipment may remain with customs authorities longer than expected.

Customs clearance time is generally not included in standard courier transit estimates.

Possible reasons include:

  • random inspection;
  • import documentation;
  • valuation review;
  • government processing;
  • duties awaiting payment;
  • requests for additional information;
  • restricted goods screening; or
  • unusually high customs volumes.

If tracking shows that your shipment is being held by customs, the courier or customs authority may contact you directly.

You should respond to legitimate requests promptly.

If you require reasonable assistance with documentation relating to your order, please contact Buddha Sacred Arts.

19. SHIPPING HIGH-VALUE ARTWORK

Some Buddha Sacred Arts products may have significant artistic or monetary value.

For high-value shipments, we may use additional safeguards including:

  • stronger protective packaging;
  • tracked delivery;
  • signature-on-delivery;
  • insurance;
  • identity or address verification;
  • restricted delivery options; or
  • enhanced courier services.

These measures are intended to protect both the customer and the artwork.

20. PACKAGING OF THANGKA PAINTINGS

Where appropriate, unframed Thangka paintings may be carefully rolled and placed inside protective packaging suitable for transportation.

This can include protective wrapping and a sturdy shipping tube or other appropriate packaging.

Thangka paintings should not ordinarily be folded unless the nature of the product or packaging specifically allows it.

Framed or brocade-mounted Thangkas may require different packaging because of their dimensions and construction.

21. PACKAGING OF FRAGILE PRODUCTS

Fragile products such as:

  • singing bowls;
  • statues;
  • jewellery;
  • ritual objects;
  • framed artwork; and
  • other delicate handmade pieces

will be packaged in a manner intended to reduce the risk of movement and impact damage during normal transportation.

Please take care when opening packages, particularly where protective layers, wrapping or secure packaging have been used.

22. MULTIPLE ITEMS IN ONE ORDER

Where possible, multiple products may be shipped together.

However, an order may be divided into multiple shipments where:

  • products are stored in different locations;
  • products have different preparation times;
  • packaging them separately is safer;
  • different couriers are required; or
  • separate fulfilment arrangements are necessary.

You will not ordinarily be charged an unexpected additional shipping fee simply because Buddha Sacred Arts chooses to split a shipment after checkout.

Each parcel may receive a separate tracking number.

23. PARTIAL DELIVERIES

If your order contains several products and only some arrive initially, please check your dispatch confirmation before reporting items as missing.

Your order may have been divided into separate packages.

Where separate tracking numbers have been issued, the parcels may arrive on different days.

24. DELIVERY ADDRESS ACCURACY

Please check your shipping information carefully before completing checkout.

Your address should include all relevant information, such as:

  • recipient name;
  • street number;
  • street name;
  • apartment or unit number;
  • suburb or city;
  • state or province;
  • postcode or ZIP code;
  • country; and
  • telephone number where requested.

Buddha Sacred Arts cannot guarantee successful delivery where incomplete or inaccurate shipping information has been supplied.

25. CHANGING YOUR ADDRESS

If you realise that you entered the wrong shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible.

If the order has not yet been dispatched, we will make reasonable efforts to update the address.

Once an order has:

  • been processed by the courier;
  • entered the courier network; or
  • left the fulfilment location,

we may no longer be able to change its destination.

A courier may sometimes offer its own delivery-redirection service, but availability is not guaranteed.

26. ADDRESS CHANGES FOR FRAUD PREVENTION

For certain higher-value orders, we may not be able to redirect a shipment to a substantially different address after payment has been authorised.

This is intended to reduce:

  • payment fraud;
  • unauthorised purchases;
  • chargeback fraud; and
  • shipment interception.

We may ask you to provide reasonable verification where a significant address change is requested.

27. PO BOXES AND PARCEL LOCKERS

Some courier services do not deliver to:

  • PO boxes;
  • parcel lockers;
  • military addresses; or
  • certain restricted locations.

If your selected courier cannot deliver to the address provided, we may contact you for an alternative physical address.

For high-value artwork, a residential or business street address may be required.

28. REMOTE AND REGIONAL LOCATIONS

Delivery to rural, remote, island or difficult-to-access locations may take longer than standard delivery estimates.

Some couriers may also apply a remote-area surcharge.

Where such a surcharge is known during checkout, it may be included in the shipping price.

If a significant unexpected surcharge arises after checkout and we cannot reasonably absorb it, we will contact you before proceeding.

29. SIGNATURE ON DELIVERY

Certain shipments may require a signature upon delivery.

This is particularly likely for:

  • valuable artwork;
  • higher-value orders;
  • insured shipments; or
  • destinations where secure delivery is appropriate.

Where signature delivery is required, please ensure that someone is available to receive the parcel or follow the courier's instructions regarding redelivery or collection.

30. AUTHORITY TO LEAVE

Where a courier allows you to authorise a parcel to be left unattended, choosing this option may affect responsibility for loss or theft after confirmed delivery, subject to applicable law.

We strongly recommend against unattended delivery for expensive or unique artwork where a safer delivery option is available.

31. MISSED DELIVERY

If no one is available when delivery is attempted, the courier may:

  • attempt redelivery;
  • leave a collection notice;
  • deliver the parcel to a local collection point;
  • hold the parcel at a depot; or
  • provide instructions through its tracking system.

Customers should monitor tracking information once their order is approaching delivery.

32. UNCOLLECTED SHIPMENTS

If a parcel is held for collection and is not collected within the courier's specified period, it may be returned to the sender.

Where an order is returned because the customer:

  • did not collect it;
  • repeatedly failed to accept delivery; or
  • provided an incorrect address,

reasonable additional shipping or return costs may apply before redelivery, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Please contact us if you believe there has been a delivery problem.

33. REFUSED SHIPMENTS

We recommend contacting Buddha Sacred Arts before refusing an international shipment.

Refusing a parcel does not necessarily cancel the order or automatically entitle the customer to a full refund.

A refused shipment may generate:

  • return courier charges;
  • storage fees;
  • customs fees;
  • administrative fees; or
  • other transportation costs.

Where refusal occurs solely because the customer changed their mind or declined to pay properly disclosed customs charges, reasonable non-refundable costs may be deducted from a voluntary refund where permitted by law.

This does not restrict statutory consumer rights.

34. DELIVERY DELAYS

Although we aim to provide reliable estimates, delays can occasionally occur.

Possible causes include:

  • customs inspections;
  • courier network congestion;
  • severe weather;
  • natural disasters;
  • strikes;
  • aviation disruption;
  • international transportation problems;
  • public holidays;
  • government restrictions;
  • security incidents;
  • incomplete addresses;
  • remote destinations; or
  • other events outside ordinary processing.

If an order is significantly delayed, please contact us.

We will make reasonable efforts to investigate the shipment and provide an appropriate solution.

35. TIME-SENSITIVE PURCHASES

If you require an item by a specific date — for example for:

  • a birthday;
  • wedding;
  • religious ceremony;
  • festival;
  • anniversary; or
  • other important occasion —

please order well in advance.

Unless Buddha Sacred Arts has expressly guaranteed delivery by a specific date in writing, estimated delivery dates should not be treated as guaranteed arrival dates.

International transportation and customs processes can occasionally cause unpredictable delays.

36. LOST PACKAGES

If tracking suggests that your parcel has been lost or has stopped moving for an unusually long period, please contact Buddha Sacred Arts.

We may first open an investigation with the relevant courier.

The courier may require time to:

  • locate the shipment;
  • review scanning history;
  • contact delivery facilities;
  • investigate the delivery route; or
  • formally classify the package as lost.

Where a shipment for which Buddha Sacred Arts remains responsible is confirmed lost, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.

This may include:

  • replacement;
  • reshipment; or
  • refund.

37. PACKAGES MARKED DELIVERED BUT NOT RECEIVED

If tracking shows that a package has been delivered but you cannot locate it, please:

  1. check the delivery location carefully;
  2. check with other members of your household;
  3. check reception, concierge or building management where relevant;
  4. check around any safe delivery location;
  5. review any photograph or proof of delivery provided by the courier; and
  6. contact the courier where appropriate.

You should then contact Buddha Sacred Arts if the package remains missing.

We can assist with investigating the delivery where reasonably possible.

38. DAMAGED SHIPMENTS

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Where practical, contacting us within 7 days of delivery assists us in making a prompt courier or insurance claim.

However, this suggested reporting timeframe does not remove or reduce any statutory rights you may have.

Please provide:

  • your order number;
  • photographs of the damaged product;
  • photographs of the external packaging;
  • photographs of the internal packaging;
  • a photograph of the shipping label; and
  • a brief description of the damage.

Please retain all packaging until we advise whether it is required for investigation.

39. DO NOT DISCARD DAMAGED PACKAGING IMMEDIATELY

Courier and insurance investigations may require photographs or inspection of the original packaging.

If a shipment arrives visibly damaged, please retain:

  • the box or shipping tube;
  • protective wrapping;
  • cushioning materials;
  • labels; and
  • the damaged item.

Disposing of packaging immediately may make it more difficult to establish what occurred during transportation.

40. INCORRECT ITEM RECEIVED

If you receive a product different from what you ordered, please contact us promptly with your order number and photographs.

Where Buddha Sacred Arts confirms that we supplied the wrong item, we will arrange an appropriate remedy and cover reasonable return-shipping costs where a return is required.

41. PACKAGE TAMPERING

If your package appears to have been opened, tampered with or significantly damaged before delivery, photograph the package before opening it where reasonably possible.

Contact us promptly if items are missing or damaged.

For serious cases, we may also request that you report the issue to the courier.

42. SHIPPING INSURANCE

Where appropriate, higher-value shipments may be insured during transit.

The availability and terms of insurance vary between couriers, destinations and product categories.

Where an insurance claim is necessary, we may require reasonable cooperation from the customer, including providing:

  • photographs;
  • packaging;
  • statements;
  • delivery records; or
  • other documentation required by the courier or insurer.

43. FRAUD AND SECURITY REVIEW

For the protection of our customers and business, some orders may undergo additional security checks before shipment.

We may temporarily hold an order where there is a reasonable concern relating to:

  • payment authorisation;
  • unusual transaction activity;
  • conflicting billing and delivery details;
  • unusually high order value; or
  • possible fraud.

We may contact you to verify reasonable information before dispatch.

A security review may slightly extend the processing period.

44. CANCELLING AN ORDER BEFORE DISPATCH

If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to cancel an order that has not yet entered final fulfilment.

However, because orders may be processed quickly, we cannot guarantee cancellation once:

  • packaging has been completed;
  • a courier booking has been finalised;
  • the item has been collected; or
  • shipment has begun.

If your order has already shipped, our Refund & Returns Policy will apply.

45. PRE-ORDERS

From time to time, Buddha Sacred Arts may make products available for pre-order.

A pre-order product is not immediately ready for shipment.

The estimated availability or dispatch date will be displayed where reasonably possible.

Pre-order dates may occasionally change due to:

  • artisan production schedules;
  • supply delays;
  • international transportation;
  • quality-control requirements; or
  • other circumstances.

If a significant delay occurs, we will aim to communicate with affected customers.

46. PRODUCTS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

Although we endeavour to keep Website stock information accurate, occasionally a product may become unavailable after an order has been placed.

This can be particularly relevant to unique or one-of-a-kind handmade pieces.

If we cannot supply an ordered product, we may offer:

  • an alternative product;
  • the opportunity to wait for availability where appropriate; or
  • a refund.

We will not substitute a materially different product without your agreement.

47. ONE-OF-A-KIND PRODUCTS

Some Buddha Sacred Arts products may exist as only one individual piece.

If a unique product is lost or irreparably damaged before reaching you, it may not be possible to provide an identical replacement.

In such circumstances, we may offer an appropriate alternative or refund in accordance with applicable law and your preference where relevant.

48. ENVIRONMENTAL AND REUSED PACKAGING

Where appropriate and consistent with protecting the product, we may use recyclable, reusable or reduced-waste packaging materials.

The appearance of outer packaging may therefore vary.

Our priority is that products are appropriately protected during transportation.

49. SHIPPING PROMOTIONS

From time to time, Buddha Sacred Arts may run shipping promotions.

Such promotions may:

  • apply only to selected countries;
  • require a minimum purchase;
  • exclude oversized products;
  • exclude particular shipping methods;
  • apply for a limited time; or
  • contain other stated conditions.

Promotional conditions displayed at the time an order is placed will apply to that order.

50. RETURN SHIPPING

This Shipping & Delivery Policy relates primarily to delivery of your original order.

For information about sending a product back to Buddha Sacred Arts, including:

  • return eligibility;
  • return addresses;
  • return shipping costs;
  • damaged items;
  • exchanges; and
  • refunds,

please review our Refund & Returns Policy available at:

https://buddhasacredarts.com

Please contact us before sending any return.

51. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW

Nothing in this Shipping & Delivery Policy excludes, restricts or modifies consumer guarantees or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where an order is not supplied within an agreed or reasonable period, is lost while responsibility legally remains with Buddha Sacred Arts, or otherwise fails to meet applicable consumer guarantees, we will handle the matter in accordance with applicable law.

Shipping delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control will be assessed according to the circumstances and applicable legal requirements.

52. INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMER RIGHTS

Customers located outside Australia may have additional mandatory rights under the consumer laws of their country or region.

Where such laws apply and provide rights that cannot legally be excluded by this policy, those rights will continue to apply.

Our international shipping terms are not intended to remove mandatory consumer protections.

53. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR REASONABLE CONTROL

Delivery can occasionally be affected by extraordinary events outside our reasonable control.

These may include:

  • natural disasters;
  • severe weather;
  • war;
  • civil unrest;
  • government restrictions;
  • international sanctions;
  • epidemics;
  • strikes;
  • aviation disruption;
  • border closures;
  • customs action;
  • cyber incidents;
  • large-scale courier outages; or
  • other comparable circumstances.

Where such circumstances affect an order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and provide an appropriate solution consistent with applicable law.
